From the coast, you'll drive 45km along pretty, meandering and picturesque roads before getting to Gréolières. The village itself, sheltered at the bottom of Mount Cheiron in the Pré-Alpes, looks down upon the Loup valley.
You'll be impressed by the beauty of the spectacular landscape ranging from big waterfalls to narrow gorges, dark tunnels ... Gréolières is the starting point of wonderful excursions. If you take the road towards Mount Cheiron, after driving round a few sharp bends, you'll enjoy a very nice view of Gréolières and its colourful rooftops contrasting nicely with the deep blue background.
The road then carries on through tunnels and archways, across the Plan-de-Peyron and a very nice col before reaching a panoramic view over the Alpine range. A bit further on, you'll see the impressive Mount Cheiron looking down upon the Grand Pré basin. |
